in the competition
Amateurs
and professionals are invited to this competition (quartet to sextet,
any instruments).

conditions
Rated
performances are open to public. The jury's decision is final. Legal
proceedings are barred. The prize winners bindingly pledge to take
part in the final event (prizewinner's concert and presentation
of prizes). After expiry of the application period admissions are
granted by the organising committee.
Audition
literature
No compulsory
pieces of music are demanded. The audition programme should always
include pieces from several stylistic periods, including works from
the 20th century. Single movements from specific works may also
be played. Once a programme for the competition is handed in, it
is binding.

should include slow as well as fast movements.

Rating
I Amateurs
Any ensembles
may participate, as long as their members at the time of application
do not pursue a professional musical training (full course of studies
or professional experience). Musicians, that finished their studies
more than 5 years ago and that have not worked as a musician since
and do not pursue their profession at the time of application are
classified as amateurs. Up to the end of the second semester (please
enclose confirmation of university) they are still classified as
amateurs. In individual cases the jury retains the right of classification.
Audition
time
For an audition
time of 20 minutes a minimum of two works (individual movements
allowed) from two stylistic periods is required, including one from
the 20th century.
Registration
fee Amateurs
For amateur
ensembles qualifying in the preliminary selections as chosen by
the jury (notification regarding the qualification is effected in
written form by the organising bureau) a registration fee of €
120.00 per ensemble is payable. The registration fee is to be paid
after receiving the admission confirmation to the account of the City of Passau (account holder "Stadt Passau")
at the Sparkasse Passau, bank code 740 500 00 (BIC BYLADEM1PAS), account number 240
000 018 (IBAN DE79 7405 0000 0240 0000 18).

II Professionals
Audition
time
For an audition
time of 30 minutes a minimum of three works (individual movements
allowed) from different stylistic periods is required, including
one from the 20th century.
At the rated
concerts for professionals the participants qualify for the finale
on Sunday 4.11.2012 at 10 o'clock in the Big Town Hall (Großer
Rathaussaal) of the City of Passau.

For professional
